One of the most rewarding but challenging accomplishments a child will ever encounter is learning to read. As with any new adventure, success comes with practice. To provide additional practice time for our young readers at our elementary schools, we have developed a volunteer program, Community Assists Reading Education or C.A.R.E.
Community volunteers are asked to spend 30 minutes per week listening to and/or reading to children at our elementary schools. This program does not just involve the parents/caregivers of our schools' children. It is directed to include all friends and family who wish to contribute to our children's success in reading.
"The greatest gift is the passion for reading."
